What do you think of my book so far?

Too much about dresses and far too many names. Right off the bat I thought it was odd that you would say, "my father Dalton." Why not just say, "my father"? Let somebody else speak to him to let us know what his name is. You didn't capitalize Verity, either, which had me a bit confused.
